1. Who we are

2. PlateApp does not require an account

You do not need to create an account, provide your name, provide an email address, or create a password to use PlateApp.

There is no user account associated with your PlateApp activity.

The app's main functionality runs locally on your device. Information you enter during the PlateApp journey is processed and stored locally, rather than being sent to us.

3. Information that stays on your device

PlateApp stores information locally on your device so that the app can provide its functionality and remember your choices.

This may include:

• age
• height
• weight
• allergies
• dietary preferences
• macro targets
• ingredient selections
• ingredient quantities
• meals and plates you create
• other information you enter into the app for the purpose of calculating or planning your meals

We do not receive, read or store this information on our servers.

Macro calculations happen on your device

PlateApp's calculations used to estimate your nutritional and macro targets are performed locally on your device.

Your age, height, weight and other information used for these calculations are not sent to PlateApp's servers for us to process.

4. Local storage

Your PlateApp information is stored locally on your device using the app's local storage.

This local storage is not encrypted by PlateApp.

You should therefore protect your device using the security features available on it, such as a device passcode or biometric lock.

If you uninstall PlateApp, clear its app data, or otherwise remove its local storage, information stored locally by PlateApp may be permanently deleted.

5. Your saved meals and plates

PlateApp allows you to save meals and plates locally on your device.

These may include ingredient names, quantities and other information needed to recreate your plate.

You can also export a plate or meal as a PDF.

The PDF is created on your device. We do not receive a copy simply because you export it.

If you choose to share or save the PDF using another app or service, that app or service will handle the file according to its own privacy policy.

6. Information we receive about ingredient combinations

PlateApp may send a limited amount of information to our server when you build a plate.

The information consists of ingredient IDs representing the ingredients selected for a plate.

It does not include:

• your name
• your email address
• your account details
• your age
• your height
• your weight
• your allergies
• your macro targets
• your dietary preferences
• your ingredient quantities
• your saved meals
• your location

The ingredient data is not linked to a PlateApp user account because PlateApp does not have user accounts.

We use this information to understand which ingredients users choose together and to improve ingredient recommendations.

For example, understanding that certain ingredients are frequently selected together can help us make better recommendations about ingredients that work well together.

7. How we use ingredient data

Ingredient-combination data is used to:

• improve ingredient recommendations
• understand which ingredients are commonly combined
• improve the PlateApp experience
• develop and improve the app's nutritional and meal-planning functionality

We do not use this information to identify individual users.

8. Technical issue reporting

PlateApp may record limited technical information when an issue occurs so that we can investigate and fix the problem.

This may include:

• what part of the app you were using when the issue occurred
• the time the issue occurred
• your device model
• a technical stack trace associated with the error

We do not use this functionality to continuously track your activity.

We do not record a history of every action you take in PlateApp.

We do not collect your IP address for this purpose.

We do not collect your Android Advertising ID.

We do not use an installation ID to track you.

We do not collect user-entered text as part of issue reporting.

Technical issue information is used to diagnose problems, improve reliability and proactively fix issues that could affect users.

9. Location information

PlateApp does not track your location.

We do not collect GPS or precise location information.

PlateApp does not need your location to provide its functionality.

10. Advertising and sale of data

PlateApp does not contain advertising.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We do not sell ingredient-selection information to advertisers or data brokers.

We do not use your information to create an advertising profile.

PlateApp exists to help people understand ingredients and build meals that can help them work towards their nutritional targets. Our limited data collection is intended to improve that experience, not to monetise information about our users.

11. Service providers

Supabase

We use Supabase to store the limited ingredient-combination data described in this Privacy Policy.

The information sent to Supabase consists of ingredient IDs representing ingredients selected together.

We do not send your locally stored profile, allergy, age, weight, height, macro, dietary preference or saved-meal information to Supabase.

Google Play

PlateApp is distributed through Google Play.

Google may collect information in connection with your use of Google Play and the Android operating system. This information is collected and processed by Google under Google's applicable privacy policies and terms.

This information is collected by Google, rather than by PlateApp, and is subject to Google's applicable privacy terms.

We do not have access to information that Google independently collects through Google Play unless Google makes that information available to us as part of a service we use.

12. What PlateApp does not collect

PlateApp does not collect or receive:

• your name
• your email address
• your telephone number
• your password
• your IP address
• your Android Advertising ID
• an installation ID used to track you
• your GPS or precise location
• your contacts
• your photographs
• your user-entered text through issue reporting
• your age on our servers
• your height on our servers
• your weight on our servers
• your allergies on our servers
• your macro targets on our servers
• your dietary preferences on our servers
• your saved meals on our servers

The information above may exist locally on your device where it is needed for PlateApp to function, but we do not receive, read or store it on our servers.

13. Data retention

Information stored locally by PlateApp remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's data, uninstall the app, or otherwise remove the relevant local storage.

Ingredient-combination data stored on our servers may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to analyse ingredient combinations, improve recommendations, operate PlateApp and meet applicable legal requirements.

Technical issue information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate and resolve technical problems and improve the app.

Because PlateApp does not create user accounts, we do not maintain personal user histories or account profiles.

14. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect information that is processed by our systems.

The ingredient-combination data sent to our servers is not linked to a PlateApp account.

However, no electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Information stored locally by PlateApp is not encrypted by PlateApp itself. You are responsible for protecting your device and its local data.

15. Children's privacy

PlateApp is not specifically directed at children.

Because PlateApp does not require accounts and does not knowingly collect children's personal information, we do not maintain children's user profiles.

If you believe that we have received personal information from a child in circumstances where we should not have, please contact us at privacy@excelcollective.co.uk.

16. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information that we process, including the right to:

• request access to information we hold about you
• request correction of inaccurate information
• request deletion of information
• object to certain processing
• request restriction of processing
• request a copy of certain information
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• complain to a data protection authority

Because PlateApp does not create user accounts and most information entered into the app remains only on your device, we may not be able to identify or retrieve information stored locally on your device.

Where we hold ingredient-combination or technical information that cannot reasonably be linked to you, we may not be able to associate that information with a particular individual.

17. International data transfers

Our service provider, Supabase, may process or store data in locations outside the country where you live.

Where applicable, we take appropriate measures to ensure that transfers of personal information comply with applicable data protection law.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PlateApp's functionality, data practices or applicable legal requirements change.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
